About Us

I'm Brooke Hartman. Former tech sales/social worker/shm turned home stylist and owner of Cornelia's Home Market located at 520 Water Street in Eau Claire WI.  

After being laid off in 2025, I decided to make my day dream of owning a home goods store into a reality. With no prior business experience or start up capital, I spent months utilizing all the wonderful resources in our community to build Cornelia's. My main goal was to bring affordable and beautiful home goods for every day living to our community.  I want to give an alternative to big box shopping and keep more dollars in the Chippewa Valley.

We opened our doors in April of 2026 on the Historic Water Street in Eau Claire, WI and we're so happy to be here. Many may remember our location for it's previous tenants, Ambient Inks. Don't worry, they are still around, just needed a larger space to keep up with all the great bands and businesses they rep!

Many ask, "Who is Cornelia?". The name Cornelia is a nod to my grandfather, Cornelius and my dad Jim. Both have passed away, but were the owners of a home building business in Central Wisconsin. While my grandfather died when I was young, I was fortunate to have our dad until 2020. His work ethic, commitment to customers and community, and well...just being a great human, was beautiful to witness. My siblings and I were so lucky.

Hope I can do the same for Eau Claire and beyond. Can't wait to see you in the shop!
